Thanks to everyone that has donated shoes to our collection.
Do you see a pair of shoes that you donated?
Over the past few weeks, thanks to all of you, we have collected over 200 pairs of shoes. These shoes will be added to the shoes already collected at the Tahoe Christian Center in Tahoe City and delivered to the Soles4Soules warehouse and distributed to families all over the world.
Hi Paul: I could hardly believe the pair of ‘WingTip’ black shoes that made your favorite pair of the week! It took all I could do to part with those shoes. They were the shoes of a man who was father to 8 children, 18 grand children and 9 great grandchildren. He worked as a computer engineer for IBM for many years. He was also a real estate broker. He was the most loving and intelligent man I had the pleasure to know and he gave everything in raising his children. he was a best friend to his wife. He had an awesome sense of humor and I miss him every day. He was a solid supporter….always. He gave much more than he ever received. I kept those shoes for 5 years after his death as a reminder of him. I am writing a book and make reference to those ‘WingTip’ shoes. There is a whole story behind them. He always encouraged us to give back to our communities. When I saw your’s and Toni’s effort to collect Soles For Souls I thought, “Yeah, it’s time to send these along to someone who can use them.” Rather then keeping them hostage in my closet as a reminder. That man was father. So it tickled me to see them as Top Pick! Yup, that’s my dad, a real ‘Top Pick’. ♥ Cathy Harry
