Stateline Fire Lookout is a great hike, if you don’t have a lot of time.
To get to the beginning of the trail/road, go up Reservoir Road, which is behind the Tahoe Biltmore, take Lakeview Avenue to the right and watch for Lookout Road that comes down from the left. The hike is really more of a walk, in-that you’re on a paved road. The walk takes less than 30 minutes. If you take the time to enjoy the views and read the placards filled with history and maybe bring a lunch, you could easily spend a couple hours. The original lookout tower is no longer standing, but you can get a feel of how it must have been for the person tending the Fire Lookout. From this viewing area you can see from California to Nevada.
If you do bring a lunch there is a nice picnicking area with tables, trash cans and restrooms. There are also walking paths and benches to enjoy the views.
