Local businesses continue to fill boxes with shoes in the Lake Tahoe area.
Some of the locations you will find a box for collection are:
Truckee Tahoe Airport
Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate
And at the Tahoe Christian Center, which continues to be a drop off location for the area.
Hopefully we are heading towards spring now and won’t need any boots like these anymore.

And the shoes just keep coming!
A big thank you to Jeff at Bank of America who has donated reusable shopping bags to pass around to collect shoes.
The shoes that I chose as the pair of the week were donated by his daughter. The feeling of helping someone else is catchy. If you would like a shopping bag to gather your shoes in for a donation, give me a call.
Many thanks to area businesses who put Soles4Souls boxes in their places of business.
Coldwell Banker was very open to the idea and helped get the word out.
Cindy the owner of a local gym, “Asante” has placed a box a the entrance for her members.
Tahoe Mountain Resorts has a box located in their Northstar Office.
Would you like to host an event or maybe have a collection box placed at our business?

Thanks to everyone that has donated shoes to our collection.
Over the past few weeks, thanks to all of you, we have collected over 200 pairs of shoes. These shoes will be added to the shoes already collected at the Tahoe Christian Center in Tahoe City and delivered to the Soles4Soules warehouse and distributed to families all over the world.
*Do you have shoes you want to donate?
More snow to Cross Country Ski in near Tahoe City
As promised by the weather forecast, we woke up to 10 inches of new snow this morning. After clearing the driveway we headed straight to the Tahoe Cross Country ski center to make some tracks in the fresh powder. When we arrived at the parking lot, it was almost full. To my surprise we only saw 3 people while we were out on the trails.
We headed out to Lakeview on the freshly groomed trails. Lakeview Trail is located near the warming hut on the Orange Trail. The warming hut is a great place to get a drink of water or make some tea or cocoa.
When we arrived at Lakeview we saw that it had not been groomed, so we broke a trail to the top. The view from the top of is well worth the trek up. Plus we knew we would be coming down the trail in almost a foot of fresh powder.
Once back at the Lodge, we enjoyed a warm cup of coffee at the Free Heel Cafe. The cafe has a simple but great menu. This is a great place to sit by the fire, and share about the wonderful adventures you had that day.
I hear we are in for a lot more snow this weekend, so I can’t wait to get back up there. Whether you are striding or skating, its an awesome place to be.
