North Shore Lake Tahoe
Tahoe City-Bunker Track behind Tahoe City

It is located behind the Tahoe City Golf Course and is a popular area for primary residents due to its proximity to Tahoe City Elementary School which was the original school for this area. The original cemetery is located here also. It is close to a couple churches and the community center. Most of the homes here are older. Some have been renovated and are really really cute. You will also find a few duplexes and a few 4 plexes. This area offers easy access to downtown. Especially when there is an event going on it town, you don’t need to get in your car and drive. Lake Forest

This area to me has always held a unique feel. Some of the homes are very old, some renovated and some just kept up to retain the Old Tahoe feel. Access to the Lake is easy, as this subdivision is located on the lake side of Highway 28. The beachfront properties enjoy a quiet lake access with out alot of people, it is kind of tucked away. There are a few churches in the area along with auto repairs, a restaurant, bakery and misc. businesses. Access to the boat ramp and bike bath are close by. The Highlands (Across from Dollar Point)

This area is popular for permanent residents due once again to the schools. The Intermediate and High school are located at the end of Polaris Drive. Lots of kids make for a wonderful sound to live by. You will also find at the top of the subdivision The Tahoe Cross Country Ski Center. In the winter you can ski and in the summer hike and bike. This is the site of the Great Ski Race every year, which is held during Snowfest week. Search for a home in the Highlands
Dollar Point

Carnelian Heights-Cedar Flat-Fulton Acres

These area are nice and secluded with a high percentage of permanent residents. These neighborhoods meld together and are accessed via Old County Road or Lardin Way. The setting for these homes is more woodsy than Dollar Hill or the Highlands. It is a mix of older and newer homes. Search for a home in these neighborhoods
Ridgewood Highalnds
Woodsy and mixed like Carnelian Heights except for some steeper and more narrow roads creating somewhat more difficult winter access. This area is mixed as far as primary residents, vacation renters and full time local renters. Access to the forest trail system can be accessed from this neighborhood. Search for a home in this area
Agate Bay

A combination of very nice homes, large and small and some dated cabins. This subdivision backs to easy access to the North Tahoe Regional Park, that offers a par course, playground, picnic benches, ball fields and lots of trails. Tahoe Marina Estates

A combination of very nice homes and some dated chalets. This subdivision is located up Stag Street off of Highway 28. One of the advantages of being located up a hill is the fantastic lake views. If you are lucky enough to be located on the south side of the street then you might have a view. Another nice thing about this neighborhood is that unless you lived there you wouldn’t go up there. Woodvista

Tall Tree Tract
I just love the name of this subdivision. There are some pretty impressive old growth Cedars here. Some of the homes in the area, which is accessed by Highway 267, are old cabins with a lot of character, and newer homes too. Kingswood Estates
This area is accessed by Highway 267. The area really doesn’t have any homes that are too old. You will see lots of newer construction. Though that has slowed down a bit currently. Most homes are in treed, quiet settings with some lake views. Just a short distance to dining and shopping. Search for a Home in Kingswood Estates or condo
Kingswood West
This area accessed also by Highway 267 is located back at least 1 mile from the highway, it has great access to trails and some of the homes are located on the edge of the subdivision look out to the lake, pretty awesome. Kings Beach-Brockway
This area who’s street names are animals going north and south and fish names going east and west, has level streets, which makes for easy winter access. Some of the cabins here are small and very old. This area was originally built up for summer vacation. The draw to this area is easy access to Stateline for gambling, and easy access to shopping and the lake. The area also includes Brockway Springs Estates, site of the famous Brockway Hot Springs Resort Hotel, is a gated lakefront community of 20 home sites on 20 acres. DOWN THE TRUCKEE RIVER
Alpine Meadows
The areas name speaks for itself. First of all offering the favorite among locals, Alpine Meadows ski area.The homes here were built with the views in mind. The granite and high rugged peaks make for an awesome setting for any home. This area has a large vacation and second home market, which if you are primary resident creates from a flurry of activity to peace and quiet times also. The homes style here are a combination of quaint chalets to large custom Craftsman’s style homes. Squaw Valley
Its now wonder when this area was discovered that people started to built homes here. The ski area offers world class skiing.The granite peaks are breathtaking every time I enter the valley. Tahoe Woods
Above the street Sequoia and behind the Catholic Church. As in most areas, this one dead ends to the forest. The homes are mixed from small chalets to large custom homes. Some of them have fantastic lakeviews.
Tahoe Park
A level, easy-access area with some older, but very nicely kept cabins and homes that are somewhat close proximity to each other. Most are on 50-foot lots. Though you will find those rare ones that have more space which are closer to the lake. Across Highway 89 you will find Sunnyside Resort.

Talmont -Twin Peaks
This area is accessed via Tahoe Park Heights to Big Pine. This mountain top subdivision has breathtaking views of the lake and miles of backcountry trails great for hiking, biking, snow shoeing and cross country skiing.You can access the Tahoe Rim Trail from them. The homes are varied from chalets to new homes. The streets are spacious and the lots generous in size.
Pineland
A nice level area with easy access to the highway. Some very cute old Tahoe cabins in here. The trees are tall and block alittle of the sun. View some homes on the market in the area
Alpine Peaks

Located 4 miles back from the Pineland area. This area backs up to Alpine Meadows’ Sherwood lift. This area is excellent for the person who wants quiet . Timberland

Timberland is an older subdivision a mile south of Sunnyside with many Old Tahoe style cabins. The access to the forest make it easy to start your trail adventure just down the street.

This is a very desirable area for lakefront homes. Some of them are split lakefront. Meaning the road separates the lot from the lake access. Some of the cabins are close to the ski area, marina, restaurants and some shopping. This heavily wooded section of the Lake also offers old Tahoe charm with some classic cabins. Tahoma
This area is very popular with locals, There are an assortment of older cabins and some that have been updated. You will also find many new homes here offering the reverse floor plan, 2 story homes.. This area abounds with lakeview homes as they were built on the hillside. If you choose to purchase one away from the view you really feel like you are in the forest. It is quiet there for sure. Rubicon
This area is very popular in the summer. It offers everything from small cabins to some of the largest Lakefronts on the lake. You can get a lot of snow here in the winter and there are a lot of trees. The area is quiet and removed from the other subdivisions, creating a wonderful getaway.
